আগের Chi-square test-এ আমরা দুইটি categorical variable-এর relationship দেখেছি।
Goodness-of-Fit test-এর প্রশ্ন একটু আলাদা:
একটি categorical variable কি কোনো specified বা expected distribution follow করছে?
ধরুন আমরা একটি dice fair কিনা পরীক্ষা করছি।
Fair dice হলে প্রতিটি side-এর expected probability:
$$p = \frac{1}{6}$$ধরুন 600 বার dice roll করার পর observed counts হলো:
1 → 92
2 → 105
3 → 98
4 → 90
5 → 103
6 → 112
Fair dice হলে প্রতিটি number-এর expected count:
600 / 6 = 100
এখন observed counts-এর এই difference random variation-এর মধ্যে reasonable কি না, তা Chi-Square Goodness-of-Fit test দিয়ে evaluate করা যায়।
